"This is THE ONLY chocolate chip cookie recipe as far as I'm concerned! I have been using this recipe for about 15 years now, and it's ALWAYS a SMASH HIT! I double the recipe because everyone LOVES them! I add 2 TBSP of additional flour per batch. This makes the batter a little easier to spoon out on to the cookie sheet, and gives you a more full bodied cookie that is still chewy, gooey, and delicious, without being flat, hard, and crunchy. Search no further...THIS IS YOUR RECIPE!!!" - ladyinram

I make these cookies all time and they are a hit everytime. I use Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips and add half a bag of Heath Bar Pieces to the recipie. I add alittle more flour because the heath bar chips make the dough bake thinner then I like. Everyone begs for these cookies!!!!

These are AMAZING! I've tried several cookie recipes and this is by far the best! I scoop bigger spoonfuls to make larger cookies and they're just fantastic!

Sooo yummy!

I loved the texture and of course the flavor. I have used the Toll House recipe for years and while I liked the flavor, I did not like the texture.
Using the shortening kept me from eating the cookie dough, but I ate more cookies. I'll make this again.

I tried many chocolate chip recipes before making these -- and they are my favorite -- the best by far. My family raves about these cookies and begs me to make them regularly. Absolutely delicious and I love the make them soft and gooey. yum.

My daughter (age:11) has been making these for years...so easy and forgiving for her. She even did her science fair project using these last year...varying the recipe and discovering what extra flour vs. extra eggs etc. would do to the results. This is definitely our favorite cookie recipe.

I've been looking for this recipe for a while. I haven't found it on the crisco baking bars labels like it used to be. LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe. I used to make it in huge batches, seal up 1 portion bags of cookies with a vacuum sealer and send them to my husband when he was deployed in Iraq. He said they tasted just as fresh as if I had just baked them when he received them. Needless to say these cookies made him very popular with the other soldiers.

Want to make this recipe even more over the top? Add a teaspoon of cinnamon and use white chocolate chips.

To make these cookies even more over the top use Light Brown Muscovado Sugar and Ghirardellli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate.

I always use this recipe, totally delicious! I hadn't tried it with the extra flour though. Though, going to now! Thanks for the idea.

Basicly this is the same recipe as the Ultimate Double Chocolate Chip Cookies from Pillsbury website. This is an awesome recipe I've been using for years.
