Suggest a better descriptionSlice onions into thin rings. Combine egg yolk, flour, cayenne, baking soda, salt and buttermilk. Mix well. Dip rings into batter and coat thoroughly. Heat oil to 375 degrees; when hot, add rings and fry for 4 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
