1 qtmilk
1/2 tsPoultry seasoning
1/4 tsSalt
1/2 tsGround nutmeg
2 tbOnion; finely chopped
6 tbAll-purpose flour
1 Dashhot pepper sauce
1 DashWorcestershire sauce
1 lbbulk pork Sausage; Sage-flavored

Sausage Gravy (For Chicken Fried Steak or Biscuits) Preparation

Crumble sausage into a large saucepan; cook over medium-low heat. Add onion; cook and stir until transparent. Drain, discarding all but 2 tablespoons of drippings. Stir in flour; cook over medium-low heat about 6 minutes or until mixture bubbles and turns golden. Stir in milk. Add seasonings; cook, stirring, until thickened. Serve over biscuits or over chicken fried steak. Yield: 4 servings.
