California 3-Bean Chili
Original recipe makes 6 Servings
| 1 Green bell pepper; coarsely |
| 4 tsChili powder |
| 1 cnWhole tomatoes (14.5oz); |
| 1 cnBlack beans (15oz); drained |
| 1 cOnions; chopped |
| 1 tsGround cumin |
| 1 tsOregano |
| 1 tsGarlic powder |
| 1/2 tsSeasoned pepper |
| CALIFORNIA SPICE BLEND |
| 2 tbolive oil |
| 1 cnRed kidney beans (15oz); |
| 1/2 tsSalt |
| 2 tsSugar |
| 1/2 cDry Red Wine |
| 1 cnWhite northern beans (15oz); |
| 1 tsBasil leaves |
California 3-Bean Chili Preparation
1. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and green pepper, cook 5 minutes, stirring often. 2. Stir in spice blend and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Garnish with shredded cheese and chopped onion, if desired. Makes 6 cups.
