Suggest a better descriptionSift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Beat butter and sugar in a bowl until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beat until incorporated. Add flour mixture, beat until incorporated. Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic wrap, refrigerate 1 hour. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment. Dust dough with flour, roll out between 2 pieces of parchment until 1/8" thick. Refrigerate 15 min. Cut out shapes using 2" cookie cutters, transfer to baking sheets. Gather scraps, reroll to cut out more cookies. Refrigerate cutouts 30 min. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake cookies until golden 15 min. Let cool 5 min. on baking sheets, then transfer to racks to cool. MAKE ICING---Sift powdered sugar and meringue powder into a bowl. Beat in 6 tbs water until soft glossy peaks form.
