Boil potatoes until tender. Set aside, reserving 2 cups of the water. Saute onion in butter until tender. In large saucepan, add milk, potato water, bacon grease, onion and butter, crumbled bacon, soup, sour cream and Velveeta. Simmer all together until cheese is melted. Add potatoes. dennis22 4 years agoIt was great! However, added the full 2 pounds of velveeta, some shallots, and also put in 3 cans of green chillies. The 2 pounds of cheese was a little much but other than that it was great!
