Date: Fri, 21 Jun 1996 23:08:59 +0700 From: Jane 1.Boil chicken with 1 1/2 lt water, then leave the (broth) water aside. Fry chicken for a few minutes, then cut into small pieces. 2.Blend together garlic,ginger,turmeric,aleurites moluccana,pepper and salt. In a wok, heat the oil over high heat and when the oil begins to smoke put all the spices on it until they smell good. 3.Heat the (broth) water,add all the ingredients from number 2,stir. 4.Add the chicken into it.Wait until it hot and bubbly. 5.Put the onion leaves. There's a huge misunderstanding all over the web about Soto Ayam. I have eaten it all over Indonesia and never seen it served with noodles, always with rice. Its the Malaysians who add noodles.
