| 1 cQuaker oats; (quick or old |
| 1 tsGround cinnamon |
| 1 cBrown Sugar; firmly packed |
| 1/3 c(5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon) |
| 1/2 tsSalt |
| 1/2 cGranulated sugar |
| 1/4 cUnsweetened applesauce |
| 1 1/4 cAll-purpose flour* |
| 2 tsBaking soda |
| 2 tsGround ginger |
| 1/4 cMolasses |
| 1 Egg; lightly beaten |
| 1/2 tsGround cloves |
Chewy Molasses Oat Crackles Cookies Preparation
Here is a recipe that I found and here is the website.There are a lot more recipes there. www.culinary.net/cgi-bin/newsfeed.cgi?newsfeedwooster *If using old fashioned oats, add 3?tablespoons more flour. 1. In medium bowl, combine flour, oats, baking soda, spices and salt; mix well. In large bowl, combine brown sugar, margarine, applesauce, molasses and egg; mix until well blended. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. 2. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheets with no-stick cooking spray. Place granulated sugar in small dish. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. 3. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until tops have crackled. Let cool 2 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.
