Original recipe makes 8 Servings
1/2 tsTurmeric
3 Garlic; minced
1 cVegetable stock
1/2 cGreen bell pepper, chopped
1 cScallions, sliced
2 cGreen cabbage, shredded
3 cBrown lentils, cooked
2 tbCanola oil
1 cFrozen peas, thawed
2 cBrown rice, cooked
1/4 tsCrushed red chili flakes
1 pnAsafetida (optional)

Spice Lentil Casserole Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large skillet, saute chili, turmeric and asafetida in oil for 2 minutes. Add scallions, bell pepper, garlic and cabbage and saute for 5 minutes. Combine with rice, lentils, stock and peas in a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes. Serve warm.
