Original recipe makes 1 Servings
1 lgOnion; chopped
1 tsGround coriander seed
1 Piece (1") fresh ginger,
1/4 cCanned tomatoes, or fresh
1/4 cVegetable oil
1/2 tsCayenne pepper
2 Cloves garlic, crushed
2 cOrange lentils
1 tsSalt
1 tsCumin seeds, crushed
1 tsCardamom seeds, crushed
1 tsTurmeric

Spicy Lentils Preparation

Dissolve salt in enough boiling water to cover lentils. Add lentils and cook until tender. Drain and mash with potato masher. Heat oil in a skillet and fry oinions and garlic until onions are golden.
