2. Roll out 1/2 the pastry and line a 9 inch pie plate.
3. Arrange apples in shell.
4. Mix sugar, flour, and spices and sprinkle over apples.
5. Dot with butter.
6. Roll out remaining pastry to cover pie. Cut slits to allow steam to escape.
7. Press edges together.
8. Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender.
