Original recipe makes 10
1 tbSoy sauce; about 5 shakes
1/4 tsCrushed red pepper
1/2 lbSplit peas; yellow
1 mdPotato; peeled and diced
1/2 cCarrots; sliced
1/2 tsCurry powder
4 Clovesgarlic; more if
2 lgOnions; coarsely chopped
2 smScallions; sliced
1/2 tsChili powder

Split Pea Soup (Vegan) - Done in Crockpot Preparation

**** Soak split yellow peas overnight - bring to a boil - drain and wash - at least twice before putting into crockpot. Method: 1. Put onions, carrots, scallions,and potatoes into slow cooker. 2. Put peas on top. 3. Toss in remaining ingredients. 4. Top off the crockpot with water. and cook on high 3 - 4 hours. Use which ever other seasonings you feel like putting in. I would perk it up a bit more with the flavor. Wish I could make it look more appetizing, but lets face it, split pea soup never looks great. This one does have the advantage of the yellows and orange over the sickly green spit peas.
