1 lbCurrants
1 tsBaking soda
1 lbSugar
12 Eggs
1 lbRaisins
5 cFlour
1 lbButter; room temp
1 tsCloves
1/2 tsSalt
1 tsAllspice
1 lbDates
1 lApple juice; or dark rum

Christmas Fruit Cake Preparation

From: Sandra Tanner Date: Tue, 30 Jul 1996 12:14:00 -0700 After cutting fruit soak fruit in apple juice, or the rum , if you prefer. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add dry ingredients and fruit. If it is too stiff add a little cherry or fruit juice. Bake two hours @ 275?. Put a pan of water in the oven to prevent over drying.
