Preheat oven to 375. Grease muffin pan or use paper liners.
Mix together wheat bran, whole bran, and milk. Let sit for 10 min in a bowl.
In a large bowl beat together applesauce, egg, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Beat in wheat bran / bran mixture.
Sift together wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Then add slowly to wet ingredients until just blended.
Fold in the pears and carrots.
Bake in pre-heated oven for 20 min.
You can add more nutmeg, cinnamon, or vanilla to taste... I use heaping teaspoons full of each and I use Mexican Vanilla.
