Suggest a better descriptionStir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles course crumbs. Make a well in the center and add milk. Knead gently on a lightly floured surface for 10 o 12 kneads. Roll or pat 1/2" thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter. Put on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 10 to 12 minutes.
