1/4 tsGarlic powder
1 lbDried black-eyed peas
1/2 cGreen bell pepper; chopped
1/2 cCelery; chopped
1/2 cOnion; chopped
1 tsBlack pepper; to taste
1/2 lbSmoked ham hocks
2 qtWater
1/2 cGreen onion; chopped

Creole Blackeyed Peas Preparation

Wash peas and soak overnight in cold water. Drain peas. Place all ingredients in large pot, add 2 quarts water. Cook at least 2 hours or until peas are tender. Additional water may be needed .
