In skillet, cook bacon several minutes. Remove and set aside. Coat beef with flour and brown on all sides in bacon mixture. Combine steak, bacon drippings, cooked bacon, seasonings, bouillon and Burgundy in pot. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours. Turn on high. Add mushrooms; cook on high 15 minutes. To thicken sauce, add cornstarch (dissolved in 2 tablespoons cold water) with mushrooms. 6 servings. Posted to recipelu-digest Volume 01 Number 392 by James and Susan Kirkland

culinaryart 22 hours agoVery tasty. So easy to make! Beef turned out tender and juicy. A little too liquid to my taste, even with Cornstach. Will add a bit of Veloutine every two hours next time to get a thicker consistency. Thank you for sharing

Rcsalemme 10 months agoWe couldn't even eat this recipe; it was so salty. Way too much buillion. We literally threw out the entire batch after cooking it all day because it was making our lips pucker.
paulavaskeroeterdink 1 year agoPretty good but needed more spice and maybe even an onion. Very tender, though. Served over noodles.
christinesmith1 1 year agoThe meat tasted good while eating it, but ended up spending the rest of the night with an upset stomach from the bacon grease. I think it would have been fine without adding the bacon grease right in the crockpot.

GatorGal 5 years agoI had been searching for a Beef Burgundy recipe that came the closest to the memory of Grandpa Dick's specialty. I followed this recipe as shown and was very pleased with the great flavor, texture and presentation. Grandpa would have agreed too, I am sure.
sgrishka 5 years agoAn easy and versatile crockpot recipe that tasted great. I doubled the amount of mushrooms, added some pearl onions and served it over egg noodles. It made for a terrific meal served alongside a simple tossed salad with vinaigrette and a crusty bread.

Sherri 9 years agoThis rated a Big 5 Stars! Wonderful flavor. I served it with mashed potatoes. Make extra for your meat and potato guys. My husband ate 3 servings.
