"it tastes just like my mom's. The split peas we had came with seasoning, so I'm not sure how that changed it, but I'm sure it was a combination of salt and pepper and some other spice. I used half lentils, as i didn't have enough split peas. Came out creamy and thick."

Crockpot Split Pea Soup Preparation
Combine all ingredients in slow-cooking pot. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Remove ham bone; cut meat off, dice, and return meat to soup.
