1. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Make well in centre. 2. In small bowl, beat egg with spoon. Add milk and pour into well. Stir lightly to mix. Batter should be sticky. If it isnt, stir in 1 tbsp of milk at a time until it is. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450F for 10-12 mins until browned. Or, form into circle to break and break off mound to eat with butter. Contributor: "Companys Coming Muffins & More" Jean Pare Posted to recipelu-digest Volume 01 Number 631 by Cathleen

besylves 1 year agoWonderful biscuits! I adjusted the recipe a little by cutting down the amount of baking powder and adding a dash of cinnamon. Kudos to the original author.
jmhend0 1 year agoThis was a great recipe. We used a cup and a half of Brummel & Brown non fat yogurt vegetable oil spread instead of butter or margerine. Dough consistency may be slightly different.

lainemiles 1 year agoThese were great! Especially for a beginner. However 5 tsp baking powder was too much and left a bitter aftertaste. I will cut it down to 3 tsp next go around.
Jbrowning2004 1 year agoEasy and quick will try next time with cheese and garlic!

christopherfischer 1 year agoFollowed the directions and it came out exactly like the picture. Tastes great - these are a great 'generic' biscuit that would go well with a more hearty down-home type meal.
AnneliseCZ 2 years agoQuick and easy to whip up. The baking powder flavor was a little strong for me. May try to adjust next time. I added garlic and cheddar too. Not bad.
Avikemyr 2 years agoVery easy to make for biscuits and gravy. I used 2 cups unbleached flour and 1 cup wheat flour. My picky toddler (age 2) likes them with honey.
