3 cFlour
2 tbSugar
5 tsBaking Powder
1/2 cbutter; or marg, cold
1 tsSalt
1 cmilk
1 Egg; beaten

Crunchy Drop Biscuits Preparation

1. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Make well in centre. 2. In small bowl, beat egg with spoon. Add milk and pour into well. Stir lightly to mix. Batter should be sticky. If it isnt, stir in 1 tbsp of milk at a time until it is. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450F for 10-12 mins until browned. Or, form into circle to break and break off mound to eat with butter.     Wonderful biscuits! I adjusted the recipe a little by cutting down the amount of baking powder and adding a dash of cinnamon. Kudos to the original author.

    This was a great recipe. We used a cup and a half of Brummel & Brown non fat yogurt vegetable oil spread instead of butter or margerine. Dough consistency may be slightly different.

    Followed the directions and it came out exactly like the picture. Tastes great - these are a great 'generic' biscuit that would go well with a more hearty down-home type meal.
