From the Complete slow cooker cookbook by Carol Heding Munson. This is a family pleaser, easy crockpot chowder.
You can sauté onions, sausage or garlic in the oil , or chuck it all in the crockpot like I do. Chop sausage before or after depending on your preference.
Put onions, garlic, sausage, potatoes, water (or broth) in crockpot.
Cook on low for 5-6 hrs or high for 3-4 hours until potatoes are tender.
Mash potatoes in crockpot a bit and add creamed corn.
Cook on high for one more hour then stir in peas and corn and wait 10 minutes for peas and corn to finish.
Add hot sauce if wanted.
Enjoy!
