Ready in 45 minutes
Common pantry ingredients like spaghetti sauce and lasagna noodles come together to make an extra easy lasagna.
"I always wanted to try cooking lasagna so I picked this one for my first attempt as it seemed very simple. And simple it was. Very easy to prepare especially since you just add store bought spaghetti sauce. Now I guess I'm ready to try a more complicated lasagna recipe where I would also prepare the sauce from scratch.
Taste and consistency was good, although it was clearly flavored with the store bought sauce.
I did add a sprinkling of shredded Parmesan cheese on top which I think added that extra flavor and would recommend adding same to yours.

In 10 inch skillet over medium high heat, cook beef until browned, stirring to separate meat. Spoon off fat. Add spaghetti sauce, heat through, stirring occasionally. In 2 quart oblong baking dish, spread 1-1/2 cups meat mixture. Top with 3 uncooked lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers. Top with remaining meat mixture. Slowly pour water around inside edges of baking dish. Cover tightly with foil. Bake at 375 degrees (f) for 45 minutes. Uncover; bake 10 minutes more. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. ~ Makes 8 main dish servings.

MsGlass01 3 months agoI tried to put noodles at the bottom of pan. I also added a spaghetti seasoning packet to my meat. The family <3 it. ;-) I will be making this again.

tibauer 8 months agoI used about 1/2 the ricotta cheese b/c my husband and I aren't HUGE ricotta fans. I added salt, pepper, a little onion powder, and a couple dashes of dried onion to the ground beef. This recipe was absolutely amazing and SOOOO easy! Tasted like olive garden lasagna! This is a staple meal for my family!!!

slmpho 11 month agoGreat recipe, it's quick and versatile and when you're feeding a husband and 2 year old its hard to beat. It's also if anything just one or two ingredients away from being pantry ready.

limegreen24 1 year agoI went along with the recipe but I mixed in sharp chedder cheese as well
Beachbumette 1 year agoWhile I loved the simplicity of this dish and the idea of using the uncooked noodles, I did think it lacked flavor. I think some seasoning added to the sauce, such as sugar, oregano, crushed red pepper, etc. would liven up the jarred sauce. I would also add some parsley, salt and pepper to the cheese mixture. I may try it again and 'dress it up a little'. :)
