Combine cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar and water in saucepan. Bring to boil, remove from heat and add butter. Add peaches. Pour into 9x13 pan. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in butter. Add milk, mix well. Top peaches with crust mixture. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. MRS HUGH BONNER (GAY) TURNER, AR From the book
