"The wife really liked this recipe. I like a lighter sauce than this makes but it was very good. I used lite soy and the next time I might cut the soy sauce a little bit. As the previous reviewer mentioned it isn't clear what to mix the cornstarch with to thicken the sauce. I used about a 1/3 cup of water and it worked fine. You could also mix with that leftover pineapple juice if you want it a bit fruitier. "- KeithD1949

Combine cornstarch, egg, and chicken and stir to coat well. Combine sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Heat oil in wok. When very hot, add half of the chicken and fry until crisp and cooked (should only take a few minutes). Remove to drain on paper towels.
Reheat oil and cook remaining chicken. Remove all but 1 T oil and add red peppers. Stir fry quickly without burning. Add sauce and stir until well-mixed and sugar dissolves. Add cornstarch mixture stirring until thickened. Return chick to wok with green onions. Stir to coat chicken, remove, and serve with rice

TXStorm 1 month agoRecipe is missing text in the ingredients. Towards the bottom it says 2 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed with 3. 3 what? Also at the bottom it says three green onions cut into 1/4. 1/4 what?
Justinpodm 1 month agoIt was good but the batter needed to be doubled and it didn't do a good job of frying the chicken. The batter seemed to drip off the chicken too much.
heatherrichardson-ulicki 1 month agoI like it a lot. But next time I will probably change the breading and try to make it crispier.

overjinx 8 months agoI turned it into a stirfry served over chowmein noodles and it turned out superb. The sauce is an excellent sauce to use for any type of stirfry, especially with chillies added.
