Suggest a better descriptionPlace sugar, water, corn syrup and cream of tartar in saucepan. Boil to soft ball stage. Remove from heat. Divide into two equal parts. Add peppermint flavoring to one part witha few drops of green food coloring. To remaining half, add wintergreen with a few frops of red food coloring. Beat each portion until creamy. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. If candy becomes too hard to handle, place in a pan of hot water to soften. To make licorice flavored mints, add 1/4 teaspoon anise and a few drops of yellow food coloring or leave white. Yield: 4 dozen.
