Saute onion and butter in a large skillet. Add carrots and apricots. Continue to saute for 5 minutes. Add chicken broth and marmalade and simmer 2 minutes; add peas and set mixture aside. Cook alphabet macaroni al dente (3 to 5 minutes). Rinse in cold water, add to vegetable mixture, and simmer 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot or cold.
