Delicious chocolate chip cookies that are so easy to make, you can make them on a rainy afternoon, or add them to your favorite Christmas cookie recipes!
Preheat oven to 375. Place sheets of aluminum foil on counter top or table for cooling cookies.
Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. Cream with an electric mixer at medium speed until well blended. Beat egg into mixture.
Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add to creamed mixture, until well blended.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake one baking sheet at a time for 10-13 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes. Transfer cookies to foil to cool completely.
Make sure your brown sugar is fresh and has not hardened. When creaming sugars with shortening, add brown sugar after liquids, this will help keep your brown sugar from forming hard clumps in your batter.
