Combine all ingredients in a 1/2 gallon jar or pitcher. Store in a dark place, stirring daily until all sugar dissolves.
After 6 weeks, strain through a cheese cloth and serve hot.
Tip: Do not use sweet apples, buy apples with strong flavor. The sugar takes care of the sweetness.
