Suggest a better descriptionThis gives you a few variants. The one I made followed her basic recipe although I used granulated (rather than brown) sugar in the crumble. I also tend to use a bit less sugar.
I butter the oven dish before adding the fruit and sprinkle on lemon juice to stop it going too brown (this way you can prepare it a bit in advance and keep it in the fridge until you want to add the crumble an put it in the oven).
I also sprinkle a bit of sugar on to the fruit (optional -it depends how sweet the fruit is itself).
Blackberry and apple is also excellent!
