Grease 5 cup capacity dish.
Peel core and cut apples into eighths, combine with sugar and water in large pan. Cover, cook over low heat about 10 minutes until apples are tender, then drain.
Spread apples in dish.
Rub flour, cinnamon, butter and sugar together, sprinkle over apples.
Bake in moderate oven for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
