Tender apples with crunchy topping, almost as good as apple pie.
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 8x8 inch baking dish. Place apples in baking dish. Combine granulated sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch, pour over apples. Distribute 2 Tablespoons butter over apples. Using fork, cut 1/2 cup butter into brown sugar and flour. Sprinkle butter/brown sugar mixture over apples. Bake at 350F for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown.
