Classic apple pie, made from scratch.
1. Prepare pie crusts according to Pie Crust Recipe instructions.
2. Peel and slice apples thinly.
3. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
4. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour with about 1 cup of water until dissolved. If mixture does not appear thick enough, add all-purpose four 1 teaspoon at a time until thick.
5. Roll out pie crusts and use to cover bottom of 2 9-inch pie pans or 1 13x9 inch baking pan. Place apples in pan(s). Pour flour mixture over apples. Sprinkle cinnamon and allspice over apples.
6. Place pats of butter on top of apples, space out well.
7. Add pie crust strips on top, using desired design.
8. Bake in oven at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
