Ingredients

20 Jonathan apples
1 c Water
1 tablespoon margerine
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 c sugar; or less

Original recipe makes 6

Preparation

Quarter the apples, place in large pot with water, margerine and lemon juice.

Cover and simmer 30 min., stirring several times. Add sugar to taste and cook 5 min. more.

Strain through colander, discarding skins and seeds; store in plastic containers.
