Ready in 45 minutes
An easy and yummy comfort meal of Mac n cheese perfect for the fall/winter months. Goes great with some baguette bread.
Heat the milk and cream together to a boil. Melt butter in saucepan. When melted, then add all the flour stirring constantly. Let cook for 4-5 minutes, continuing to stir. Remove from heat and add warm milk and cream while whisking if sauce is too thick, add a touch more milk.
Add cheese to white sauce and stir. (Save a bit of cheese for the topping. I also add bread crumbs and paprika to the top). Stir sauce into macaroni and place in a buttered casserole dish. Place in 350° oven until slightly brown and bubbly on top 25-30 minutes.
lisamarr-turner 6m agoThis is a great recipe. I wasn't sure when I first saw it, because I have never made a white sauce that way, but it comes out great. perfectly creamy and cheesy. I used Sharp Cheddar and a mixture called Casserole Cheese. everybody loved it. I put some bread crumbs and some of the Frenches Onions on top. This recipe is a definite keeper.

Sdwood 3y agoThis is the Mac & Cheese recipe to use!!!! The others are dry and "so-so." This one is creamy and cheesy and I ALWAYS get compliments on it and people always ask me to make the mac & cheese for dinner parties. This is the one!!!
