This is a really good recipe for macaroni and cheese and it's great to reheat and eat again later. Comfort food!

"My husband loved it! Added bacon, which was amazing!! I would recommend using 2% milk (I used skim milk and it did not get as thick). I will for sure make it again and experiment with different cheeses!"

Are you making this?
1 7-oz package Small elbow macaroni; cooked (al dente) and drained
2 tablespoons Margarine
2 tablespoons Flour
1 teaspoon Dry mustard
1 teaspoon Salt
2 1/2 cups milk
2 cups Cheddar cheese; shredded

Original recipe makes 12 Servings

Preheat oven to 375 and spray a 9 x 13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium saucepan, melt margarine, stir in flour, mustard and salt and cook for about 1 minute. Gradually stir in the milk and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens slightly (it should coat the spoon). Remove the milk mixture from the heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese and stir until the cheese is melted. Stir in the drained macaroni and then turn into the baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese and bake 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.

Delicious! I also added mozzarella cheese as well, and grilled chicken and cut it up and mixed it in before putting in the casserole! Great meal.

I made this for youth group and trippled the recipe. It turned out soupy. I was so embarrassed. I know I calculated the measurements correctly when I tripled it. What went wrong?

It was good but not my favorite. My kids didn't care for it but my husband and I liked it. Probably wont make it again or next time I'll tweak it a little.
