Easy to make baked ziti casserole
Cook macaroni according to box and drain. Broil sausage 7-8 minutes on each side. Cut into ¼ inch slices. In a medium bowl combine ricotta, 4 Oz mozzarella, parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Blend mixture well. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spread about 1 and ½ cups of spaghetti sauce over the bottom of a 13x9x2 pan. Layer ½ of the cooked ziti over the sauce, and then add the cheese mix over the ziti. Cover the cheese mixture layer with the sausage slices and remaining ziti. Top this layer with the remaining spaghetti sauce and bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and bake for 10 minutes longer. Cover with aluminum foil if dish is browning too quickly. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
