Top-ranked recipe named "Baking Powder Drop Biscuits For Dutch Oven"
These light and fluffy biscuts served with butter, honey or your favorite jelly will keep them coming back for more.
Preheat a #16 Dutch Oven for a hot oven, 450 to 500 degrees. In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a bowl, whisk milk and egg. Stir into crumb mixture just until moistened. Drop by heaping spoonfuls 2 in. apart into the dutch oven. Place lid on the oven and place over just a few coals, too many and the biscuts will burn. Cover the lid evenly and completely with coals. Bake hot for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
