Top-ranked recipe named "Banana Bread"
This banana bread recipe is Mrs. Wood's version.
"This bread was awesome! I did make a couple changes/additions. I used all brown sugar in place of white sugar, I added about a half cup of ground golden fax meal. I also added an extra teaspoon or so of vanilla and a half cup of shredded coconut. The mixture seemed a bit thick so I added a splash of milk to loosen it up. Then I sprinkled brown sugar over the top before baking. It turned out great!!! Toasted it the next morning and topped with maple butter. Delicious!!!"
Mash bananas with fork until smooth. Combine with all other ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour into a large greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for about one hour
The best I have ever tried, not too soggy and not too dense.

t_tortilla 1 year agoQuite tasty! I add 1/4 cup each of walnuts and dried cranberries. 1/2 to 1 tsp of cinnamon if you want also!
hunnibun 1 year agoThis is delicious!! My dad used to make this and I could never find a recipe that tasted like his, but I think the search is over. The only thing I did different was I left some lumps in my banana mush, but I prefer it like that. Apart from that, I didn't change a thing.
jennbarraclough 1 year agoLOVE this recipe!!! Tastes almost exactly like my grandma's and my husband can't get enough it! Just make sure the bananas are NOT fresh, about a week old is perfect.

ees55 1 year agoThis was not my favorite. I added walnuts and cinnamon but the bread still seemed to be missing something. It could have been more moist too.
