This banana bread recipe is Mrs. Wood's version.

"This bread was awesome! I did make a couple changes/additions. I used all brown sugar in place of white sugar, I added about a half cup of ground golden fax meal. I also added an extra teaspoon or so of vanilla and a half cup of shredded coconut. The mixture seemed a bit thick so I added a splash of milk to loosen it up. Then I sprinkled brown sugar over the top before baking. It turned out great!!! Toasted it the next morning and topped with maple butter. Delicious!!!"

4 each Bananas; peeled
1 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon pure Vanilla
1 1/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
2 ea Eggs
1/4 cup Butter
2 cups Flour
1/4 teaspoon Baking soda

Original recipe makes 8 Servings

Mash bananas with fork until smooth. Combine with all other ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour into a large greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for about one hour

The best I have ever tried, not too soggy and not too dense.

By far the best banana bread recipe. It always turns out well and it basic ingredients. It's stuff you would already have. Thank you for sharing.

Good solid recipe. Used very ripe bananas. Used 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Added 1 tsp cinnamon. Mixed all the wet ingredients first and then added the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Everyone loved it.

Great but simple recipe. For those of you who are finding it too dry, try using older bananas. I use 1/2 white & 1/2 brown sugars, nuts and cranberries

I was inquiring whether this recipe could be doubled even tripled. When I make Sweet Breads I like to make several at a time. This recipe looks really good. Thank you.

I add 1c. of mini chocolate chips and make muffins instead of loaves.

Quite tasty! I add 1/4 cup each of walnuts and dried cranberries. 1/2 to 1 tsp of cinnamon if you want also!

This is delicious!! My dad used to make this and I could never find a recipe that tasted like his, but I think the search is over. The only thing I did different was I left some lumps in my banana mush, but I prefer it like that. Apart from that, I didn't change a thing.

LOVE this recipe!!! Tastes almost exactly like my grandma's and my husband can't get enough it! Just make sure the bananas are NOT fresh, about a week old is perfect.
