This kid-popular dish is sweet and savory, and most importantly, extremely easy to make. Serve with crunchy coleslaw on the side.

"I read reviews 1st..seared meat 1st- good idea since it gives you some "bark" or "burnt ends"..made my favorite BBQ sauce and added liquid smoke. It was tender and delicious. I made carmelized onions and served on a variety of rolls with coleslaw. Thanks for posting..will be a go to winter dinner!"

Ingredients

2.5 lbs pork roast
1 14-oz bottle favorite barbecue sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 medium Onion; chopped
8 hamburger buns or hard rolls

Original recipe makes 8

Preparation

1. Place the pork roast in your slow cooker. Cover; cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours or until pork is tender.

2. Remove the pork roast from the slow cooker and shred with 2 forks. Pour out any liquid in the pot. Return the pork to the cooker; add the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice and onion. Cook on high for 1 hour or on low for 2 hours.

3. Serve the pork on hamburger buns or hard rolls.
