I made this on 18-Dec-05. Michelle was absolutely in awe of the sauce. She also confirmed that the meatballs need to be very small...

Mike...

"I liked this recipe, but would personally make some changes next time including the fact that I thought I was making the meatballs small enough but soon realized that they weren't when I got them on the skillet. Also, I would probably boil the meatballs instead of browning them and my taste tester (my fiance) prefers things a little more tart so I would us a little less brown sugar. All in all it was a VERY good and easy recipe."

Preparation

Meatballs:

In a large bowl combine beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, milk, garlic, salt, pepper & mustard. Mix well using hands. Shape into very tiny meatballs. Heat oil in large skillet, and brown meatballs on several sides. Remove from skillet and place on a large platter or bowl.

BBQ Sauce:

In a small bowl combine sauce ingredients. Mix well. Pour into a large saucepan. Simmer for 15 minutes to blend flavors.

Add meatballs to the sauce and stir gently. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until meatballs are hot all the way through.

Serve in a corningware dish, or a crockpot if it's for a potluck.

I just made these for supper and it's a really easy recipe. I used more hamburger plus I used garlic powder instead of garlic because that was all I had. They turned out fine. We did end up using our own garlic sauce on them though.

Made the sauce with store bought frozen meatballs. Really tasty and super easy. I don't know which way is better because this is the only way I did them
