Prepare marinade. Pour some of the marinade in bottom of baking dish before putting the brisket in: pour the remaining marinade over the brisket. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and marinate overnight.
BAKING:
1. Pour off and discard some of the marinade. Sprinkle both sides of the brisket with Paprika. Tightly seal the baking dish on all four sides with aluminum foil and bake at 325 degrees for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours. (or if you have two 4 1/4 lbs. briskets in the oven at the same time bake for 4 hours)
2. When done baking, lift foil to allow steam to escape then cool completely. Once cooled, shred the brisket.
3. Mix together sauce and pour over the shredded brisket. Again, cover the foil and bake an additional 30 minutes at 300 degrees.
Joany does not make the Optional Sauce.
