This recipe was handed to me from my grandmother
Rinse and pick through Lima Beans and Pearl Barley.
Add lima beans to large stock pot.
Add both canned and dried mushrooms.
Cut beef flanken and add to pot. cut ends off and peel onion. Add to pot. Cover all with water. Add boullione cubes.
Bring to simmer and simmer about 1 hour.
Add the barley and more water as needed
Simmer until the lima beans and barley are tender, about 1-1/2 to 2 hours
Make it as thick as you want.
I like it very thick.
