Another "Beef Stroganoff" recipe ranks higher.
Great on noodles or over bread. Cheap meal, VERY easy to prepare.
"I'm so glad y'all liked it! I'm definitely going to have to try it in the oven and in the frying pan... great ideas! And absolutely have to try it over potatoes... that sounds divine!"
Cut beef in strips or cubes. Coat w/ salt and pepper really well. Place in bottom of crockpot.
Mix garlic, Worcestershire, beef broth. Pour over meat. Cover and cook
on LOW for 6 to 8 Hours, until tender. Turn heat to HIGH, add 2 Tbls. wine and
mushrooms. Dissolve flour in small amount of water & add to meat mixture. Stir
to blend. Cook on HIGH for 15 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in sour
cream. Serve hot over noodles.
I prefer with beef bullion cubes, better taste. To substitute, use 1 large cube (which is for 2 cups of water).
Meat comes out very soft.

Tee2072 3 years agoVery nice, although I think next time I will add the mushrooms and wine a little sooner. But big hit with whole family.

Kayp75 3 years agoMade this last night in large frypan instead of slow cooker. Also only used about a tablespoon of cornflour instead of plain flour but it turned out great, thanks for the recipe!
Jcooke01 5 years agoThis worked out very well, I used 3 cups of water and 3 bullion cubes, that was the only difference, salt and pepper to taste, good to go!
mldyslord 5 years agoI made this last night and because of the time limit, we didn't use the slow cooker, but instead put it in a crock from a slow cooker and put it in the oven at 350F. It came out absolutely perfect, and reminded me why I like doing things from scratch instead of out of a box - it just tastes better most of the time. It's also very easy to make. We put it over baked potatoes, though, and that was very good. The best compliment of all? There were NO leftovers. :o)
