Top-ranked recipe named "Best Ever Mac n Cheese"
This simple to make Mac n' Cheese is the best I've ever had! We don't have a family get together without it, and everybody that trys it wants the recipe. So here you go.
"I did like this dish. I would serve it again, but with modifications. I would not use as much corn starch - it was a little sticky - I would undercook the noodles a little and add a little more water. Once the sauce was absorbed and it had cooked warmed for the hour in the crock pot, the noodles were a little over-done for my taste....but overall very good and leftovers worked well, too!"- Grecco
Cook and drain macaroni; put in crock pot.
Combine corn starch, salt, mustard and pepper in medium sauce pan
Stir in evaporated milk, water, and butter
Cook over medium/high heat stirring constantly until mixture come to a boil
Boil for 1 minute
Remove from heat, stir in cheese until melted
Pour over macaroni and stir
Let cook in crockpot on med-low for 1 hour stirring after 30 minutes

rebechla1 8 months agoI had such high hopes for this since it has so many good reviews, but unfortunately no one in my family liked this mac & cheese at all. And that says a lot since my 3 kids usually love anything containing cheese.

gabeshappymom 9 months agoDelicious and super rich!!! I reduced the cheese and increased the noodles and still felt like I was biting into a block of cheese. I'll just keep playing with the proportions to suit our taste. Thank you for the recipe

ree138 1 year agoExcellent..I just reduced the water amount since I didn't put in crock pot. I also added 1 egg. Then I kept some of the milk, cornstarch mixture for the top right before I put in oven. Oh! I also used cheeze wiz and mexican blend cheese.. but the base was the exact recipe as stated..I found my new mac and cheese..thank u darling!!

kadam39 1 year agoDelish! My family loved this recipe. I used skim milk in place of evaporated and it worked just fine. I also sprinkled with smoked paprika. Yum!

FemmeFatale 1 year agoMade this for dinner tonight. Used old white cheddar, romano and asiago and it turned out amazing. Added some garlic bread to the side. Perfection.
