Best Ever Mac n Cheese

This simple to make Mac n' Cheese is the best I've ever had! We don't have a family get together without it, and everybody that trys it wants the recipe. So here you go.


1 2/3 cups elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon Salt
0.5 teaspoon dry mustard
0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 12-oz can evaporated milk
1 cup Water
2 tablespoons Butter
3 cups mild cheddar cheese
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese

Original recipe makes 5 Servings



Cook and drain macaroni; put in crock pot.

Combine corn starch, salt, mustard and pepper in medium sauce pan

Stir in evaporated milk, water, and butter

Cook over medium/high heat stirring constantly until mixture come to a boil

Boil for 1 minute

Remove from heat, stir in cheese until melted

Pour over macaroni and stir

Let cook in crockpot on med-low for 1 hour stirring after 30 minutes

I've tried a few of the Mac n cheese recipes I've seen on here and this one definitely ranks up at the top considering the taste and simplicity of the recipe. Really good! Perfect blend of cheese and creaminess. Will be making again:)

I had such high hopes for this since it has so many good reviews, but unfortunately no one in my family liked this mac & cheese at all. And that says a lot since my 3 kids usually love anything containing cheese.

Delicious and super rich!!! I reduced the cheese and increased the noodles and still felt like I was biting into a block of cheese. I'll just keep playing with the proportions to suit our taste. Thank you for the recipe

Excellent..I just reduced the water amount since I didn't put in crock pot. I also added 1 egg. Then I kept some of the milk, cornstarch mixture for the top right before I put in oven. Oh! I also used cheeze wiz and mexican blend cheese.. but the base was the exact recipe as stated..I found my new mac and cheese..thank u darling!!

Delish! My family loved this recipe. I used skim milk in place of evaporated and it worked just fine. I also sprinkled with smoked paprika. Yum!
