Homestyle hamburger steak...need I say more.
Mix hamburger, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and flour together. Form into patties. Brown both sides. Remove from skillet.
Saute the onions in the same pan, adding a small amount of oil if needed.
After sauteing the onion, remove from skillet.
Prepare gravy and stated on the instructions, bu also all the boullion cube and salt and pepper.
When gravy is made, put steaks and onions in the gravy. Simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes, checking often and adding water to keep gravy from becoming too think.

sdfgrl 3y agoI found the recipe a little hard to follow. (Brown both sides? Do I cook the patties or just enough for both sides to be brown.) It turned out really yummy in the end, though.
Bluve27 3y agoHubby and kids enjoyed the meal. I found it slightly difficult to make based on the vague instructions provided. For someone who has never made Salisbury steak, or hamburger steak, more detailed instructions on the patty thickness and heat requirements would have made my cooking experience more pleasant. Overall, a good dish for those who like hamburger steak.
