A layered sandwich of turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato smothered with blue cheese dressing instead of the traditional mayonnaise.


3 slices maple cured bacon; (thick cut) cooked and set aside
2 ounces turkey breast; sliced thin
2 tablespoons blue cheese dressing; homemade or purchased
1 ounce lettuce leaves
1 tomato; sliced
2 slices Portuguese bread; or hearty rustic country bread

To assemble sandwich, spread blue cheese dressing on both of the bread slices. Assemble sandwich by layering bacon, lettuce, tomato and turkey on one of the bread slices and then top with remaining slice to complete sandwich.

Cut in half and serve.
