Suggest a better descriptionIt sounds like your trying toduplicate a recipe for bread dumplings. My fathers side of the family is Czech. Heres their recipe for bread dumplings, and its a no fail one at that. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Add eggs, milk, and 2 slices of bread. Mix well. Form into two dumplings. Let stand exactly 30 minutes. Boil 12 minutes on one side and 12 minutes on the other side. Slice into 1/2-inch slices. Serve immediately. I sometimes make a double batch of these and freeze the loaves individually. I defrost the dumplings at room temperature.
