My partners chicken and vegetable pie that beat out my pie in our in house bake off
Filling
1. Heat oil and butter in pan on medium heat
2. Add chicken, leek, celery, mushrooms and bacon
3. Cook until vegetables softened and chicken browned
4. Set aside
Sauce
1. Heat butter in saucepan on medium to low heat
2. When butter starts to bubble add flour and whisk to make a roux
3. Gradually add milk and simmer to thicken sauce
4. Add garlic powder and celery salt
5. Add cheese
6. Once cheese is melted and sauce is thickened take off heat and combine with part 1
Pastry
1. Spray pie dish with spray oil
2. Lay a sheet of flaky pastry and blind bake
3. Next add combined filling and sauce
4. Lay a sheet of pastry over top
5. Bake at 180c for about half an hour or the pastry is golden brown
Serve with fries or salad
