Pound cake
Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Add eggs. Beat until smooth (very important). Sift the baking powder and flour in a separate bowl. Add flour mixture and milk alternately to the butter mixture (a little flour a little milk while mixer is running, continue until all has been added). Add Vanilla and continue mixing until smooth (again very important). Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Cook at 325 for 1 hour and 15 min. At the end of this time stick a knife in and if it comes out wet cook for an additional 15 min. Repeat knife test and additional time until done.
