"This is THE ONLY chocolate chip cookie recipe as far as I'm concerned! I have been using this recipe for about 15 years now, and it's ALWAYS a SMASH HIT! I double the recipe because everyone LOVES them! I add 2 TBSP of additional flour per batch. This makes the batter a little easier to spoon out on to the cookie sheet, and gives you a more full bodied cookie that is still chewy, gooey, and delicious, without being flat, hard, and crunchy. Search no further...THIS IS YOUR RECIPE!!!"
Heat oven to 375. Cream butter flavor crisco, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in large bowl. Blend until creamy. Blend in egg. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture, gradually. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop rounded Tablespoonfuls (about 2 measuring tablespoons) of dough 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies (they will look light and moist) or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies DO NOT OVERBAKE.
Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes. Remove to cool rack. 3 dozen 3-inch cookies.
Note: if nuts are omitted, use 1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips.

cleve_doyen_3 3 months agoI like to play around with the mixture but we use gluten free flour substitute and everyone goes nuts over them.
JBBO93 3 months agoDon't need to use two tablespoons of batter per cookie. Way too much! One rounded tablespoon is enough.
Pearlgardn 6 months agoI followed this recipe EXACTLY, and to be quite frank, it's one of the WORST!!! The first 2 batches of cookies came out so flat, the only parts that were chewy was where the chocolate chips were. The dough was wet and sticky so I ended up adding about another 1/4 cup of flour to the original 1 3/4 for the rest. I should have known better than to stray from my old stand by Toll House recipe. I thought I would try a different one this time...if we want chewy cookies, I'll make that recipe and just not bake them as long.

TheresaBates 2 years agoNo doubt the best cookie EVER! I mix 3/4 cup chocolate chips, 3/4 cups peanut butter chips and a cup of pecan pieces!!!!!

shannonjo 5 years agoI make these cookies all time and they are a hit everytime. I use Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips and add half a bag of Heath Bar Pieces to the recipie. I add alittle more flour because the heath bar chips make the dough bake thinner then I like. Everyone begs for these cookies!!!!
