How to make caprese salad - it's a light, delicious summer salad. Some feel that balsamic vinegar should be left off -- it's a personal preference, and I'm happy with this salad either way. Be sure to use the freshest possible buffalo mozzarella, basil and tomatoes.
Slice tomatoes about one quarter inch thick and arrange on a plate.
Slice thin discs of mozzarella cheese and place on each tomato. Top with a sprig of basil.
Mix olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Pour over tomatoes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve
Very attractive, simple, quick and elegant first course on a hot spring or summer day.

jokoboco 3y agoIt may hit others' taste buds but I didn't care for it. The fresh basil was too overpowering for me.

Ajstallones 3y agoMade this with dried basil rather than basil leaves. It was okay, I need to try next time with better ingredients.
